Several migrants who had endured tortuous journeys to Europe after fleeing the Middle East were excited and star-struck to see Angelina Jolie with many jostling for positions to take photos and selfies with her.
About 4,000 refugees are waiting at the Greek port after Macedonia closed its border with Greece leaving them stranded.
Angelina Jolie, a special envoy of the United Nations struggled to move through the crowd.
Angelina at one point told one boy,
"I'm here to learn and speak with you and the agencies and the government to learn what is happening, OK? Try to stay strong".
